Can an au pair care for an infant younger than three months old?

Au pairs are not allowed to be the sole adult childcare provider to any child less than three months of age. This means that a parent or other responsible adult must be home with the au pair to assist with childcare for an infant under three months of age at all times. This limit applies to both active and passive forms of childcare.
