Where can my au pair take classes?

Au pairs must take classes at an accredited college or university in the U.S. (above the high school level). A post-secondary institution is one that offers at least a one-year program of college-level studies. An accredited institution is officially recognized by a regional or national accrediting commission.

Your Local Coordinator keeps a list of approved schools on your Local Info page in Passport. Examples of accepted schools include colleges, universities, and community colleges. Classes at high schools, community centers, and adult schools are generally not accepted.

To confirm if a school is acceptable, the au pair can submit a Class Pre-Approval Form.
